On October 27, TKM took part in an online session organized by CCI FRANCE RUSSIE’s Committee on Taxes, Finance and Security, with the support of the Committee on Customs and Transport and the Committee on Intellectual Property. The event was dedicated to the topic of “Сounteracting illegal products: counterfeiting and parallel import. Review of the current situation”.
Aksunkar Ashimbek, Business Development Manager at TKM, delivered a speech on transition of offline markets to an online format. She highlighted the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the online and offline markets in Russia and described specifics of online distribution of counterfeits. She also explained how a complex anti-counterfeiting strategy, which combines online and offline protection methods, works, with examples of business cases.
Among other topics discussed at the session were the national marking and tracking system in Russia, interaction of right holders with customs authorities in the EAEU and effective strategies to combat illegal products.
The event was attended by about 50 people — representatives of Russian, French and international companies.
