TKM PARTICIPATES IN IP CENTRAL ASIA FORUM | TKM - International Consulting
April 21, 2021

On April 15-16, TKM International Consulting took part in the IP Central Asia Forum  — an online conference that focused on the latest trends in the protection and enforcement of IP rights in Central Asia and the challenges and opportunities arising in connection with digitalization.

One of the most actively discussed topics was the fight against counterfeit in the context of the three-year moratorium on inspections for small and micro enterprises that had come into force in Kazakhstan in January 2021. The moratorium has been causing serious damage to trademark owners since the majority of violators involved in counterfeit trade are small and micro businesses.

Our team was glad to take part in expert networking and contribute to the discussion of the most pressing problems in the region.

The event brought together around 250 participants: IP attorneys, managers and corporate lawyers of the largest companies, owners of intellectual property rights in the Central Asian region, as well as government agency representatives and lawyers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Russia and Azerbaijan.
